| 1) Compiling your Local Store Marketing Partner List |
| |
| I have had several requests to discuss compiling Partner
lists within our trade areas, and specifically, determining what
types of partners belong on our trade area list, and what types
do not belong on the list.
(If you have missed prior versions of our newsletters,
you may find them located in our Archives section on our website
– http://www.pizzapeel.com). |
| |
| Your partner list should include all of those business and
non-business types of organizations that interact with potential
customers in your trade area.
You can choose to reference the Yellow Pages, your
Chamber of Commerce, Local Community Newspapers, and even the
building department in your township or county to gather
information about new store openings in your trade area. |
| |
| The list can become quite extensive even if you’re just
gathering information from the yellow pages.
Fortunately, the phone book has truly organized your list
of potential partners, and it’s up to you to decide: |
|
1) Which business types you would like
to work with, and |
|
2) Who, from those organization types,
you will want to add to your potential partner list.
|
| |
| Here’s an example, I’ll pick a business type from the yellow pages:
|
| |
| Fraternal Organizations – This is my potential
partner business type, and my potential partners fall under this
listing:
|
|
1) American Legion Post No.14
|
| 2) BPOE Elks
|
| 3) Fraternal Order of Eagles
|
| 4) K of C Home
|
| 5) Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 227
|
| 6) Masonic Hall
|
| 7) McSherrystown Moose No 720
|
| |
| Out of this potential partners list, I already know their
address and telephone number!
|
| |
| The question remains, “Should I include Fraternal
Organizations as a business type, as well as the seven potential
partners in the business type listing for Local Store
Marketing?”
|
| |
| My response would be yes.
In past issues, we discussed finding our potential
partners to determine our potential LSM customers.
What kinds of potential customers could we draw from this
partner list? Their
fraternal members would be our potential customers.
|
| |
| Here’s the overall picture – |
| |
| 1)
List Business and Non-profit organizational types in your trade
area from the Yellow Pages, Chamber of Commerce, Local
Newspapers, and Local Building Department.
|
| |
|
2) List those specific potential partners in the Organization's
list. |
| |
|
3) Determine what kind of potential customers frequent the
potential partner's place of business or interact with the
activities of the potential partner.
|
| |
|
4) Focus on those partner's whose customers/employees you would
want to make your own!
|
| |
| Out of all of the potential partner business types that
exist, it is truly up to you to determine if they belong on your
potential partner list!
|
| |
| In the next issue, we’ll explore how to partner with these
groups, and establish true partnering to attain our Local Store
Marketing goals!
